The problem
Online and hybrid clients send videos of their lifts, and typing careful feedback on each one takes time. A trainer reviewing 15 form videos a week at about 10 minutes each spends 2.5 hours a week on it.
What the AI does
CoachNow is a coaching app for sharing video, voice-over feedback and drills with each client. Its pricing page lists a video analysis suite with annotation tools, slow-motion playback, skeleton tracking with angle detection and unlimited voice-overs on every plan. PRO adds unlimited Spaces and Groups (Analyze has 5), post scheduling, view tracking and templates. Clients post their lift to their own space, and you reply with a short voice-over on the slowed-down clip, drawing on the frame where it matters. Feedback is on technique only. Pain, injury or a medical condition goes to the client's GP or a physiotherapist.
A worked example
A personal trainer in Brighton has 12 online and hybrid clients who send about 15 lift videos a week on WhatsApp. They move form checks to CoachNow PRO, paid yearly.
Before
About 2.5 hours a week typing feedback on form videos
After
About 1 hour a week recording voice-overs on annotated clips
What it's worth
About $258£194€231A$372C$365 a month in time saved: 1.5 hours a week, times 4.3, is 6.45 hours a month at an assumed $40£30€36A$58C$56 an hour. That is against CoachNow PRO at $499 a year (about $41£31€37A$60C$58 a month) or $49.99 (about $49£37€44A$71C$70) a month billed monthly.
How to set it up
- Start CoachNow and choose PRO if you have more than 5 clients sending videos, since Analyze covers only 5 Spaces and Groups.
- Create a space for each client and ask them to film from the angle you need for each lift.
- Reply to each clip with a voice-over and an annotation on the key frame, keeping to one or two points.
- Save common cues and drills as templates to reuse.
- Check view tracking weekly and follow up with clients who haven't watched their feedback.
What goes wrong
- Prices are in US dollars, so the sterling cost moves with the exchange rate.
- Video can't show everything. If a client mentions pain or injury, stop and refer them to their GP or a physiotherapist rather than coaching through it.
- Client videos are personal data; agree how long you keep them and delete them when a client leaves.
- Skeleton tracking and angle detection are aids. Your judgment decides what to change.
