On 20 October 2026 Google announced new Gemini tools for small business owners, and its post says they are available to all Gemini app users, with no plan tier named. Google's UK subscriptions page, loaded on 22 October, shows the Gemini free plan at $0£0€0A$0C$0 a month. So trying them doesn't need a paid plan, though Google doesn't say which tier gets higher limits on these features.
What Google announced
Google's announcement lists four things. A business landing page in the Gemini app, described as a central place for building a brand, analyzing finances and reviewing customer insights. Connections to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, plus third-party apps including Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero. A brand style: upload a website, brand kit, fonts or colors, and Gemini reuses that style when it creates images, so each one doesn't need the same uploads. And financial insights: Gemini turns spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records into graphics and interactive financial models. Marketing and finance skills are also rolling out.
Google says the rollout is global and starts in the coming days. The post gives no list of countries, so a UK owner should check whether the business page has appeared in the app before planning around it. The post also points larger firms to a separate offering, Gemini for your business, with admin controls and data governance. That is outside this post.
What it costs
The announcement mentions no price. Google's UK subscriptions page lists the free plan at $0£0€0A$0C$0 Google AI Plus at $5.97£4.49€5.34A$8.62C$8.44 a month and Google AI Pro at $25.26£18.99€22.60A$36.46C$35.70 a month. The free plan lists image generation and editing, Deep Research, Canvas, Gems and Gemini Notebook. Higher plans give more usage: Plus is listed at 2x the free plan and Pro at 4x. The page doesn't say which limits apply to the new business tools, so start on the free plan and move up only if you hit a limit. Prices and features on the page may change.
Which of the site's ideas it touches
None of the site's ideas needs the new tools; each one works by pasting text into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. The announcement matters for two kinds of job where Gemini can now work from your own material. The figures below come from the ideas' worked examples, which are illustrative, not promises.
- Review replies. Review replies for restaurants is worth about $69£52€62A$100C$98 a month in time, and Google review replies for barbershops about $41£31€37A$60C$58. Both still start from pasting the review text. Google's post says Gemini can connect to Google Business Profile, but doesn't say what it can do with reviews there, so the pasting step stays until you've tested it.
- Social posts and images. Weekly social posts for cafés is worth about $68£51€61A$98C$96 a month and weekly new-arrival posts for independent shops about $96£72€86A$138C$135. The brand style feature is aimed at this job: set your colors and fonts once, then ask for images that match.
- Reading your numbers. Google's finance feature turns spreadsheets and receipts into charts. Keep your accounting software as the record, and treat any chart from Gemini as a draft to check against it.

What to watch
Connecting apps means Gemini can see what is in them. Google Business Profile holds public listing details, but Xero, Shopify and Dropbox hold customer names, invoices and files. Free and Google AI plans are personal-account plans, so UK GDPR applies to anything you share. Connect only what the task needs, and keep customers' personal details out of prompts. Check what each connected app is allowed to read before you switch it on.
Treat every generated image and chart as a draft. Check prices, opening hours and claims in a social post before it goes out, and check chart figures against your own records. If a feature isn't in your app yet, nothing is wrong; Google says the rollout takes days.
What to do first
Open the Gemini app on the free plan in a week or so and look for the business page. If it's there, connect only your Google Business Profile, set a brand style from your website, and ask for one social image. Time how long it takes against your current way of doing it. If it saves time, try a review reply next. Leave finance connections until you've decided how much of your accounting data you're happy to share with a personal plan. See the Gemini tool page for the plans.
