An electrician's money leaks in small places: a trip to a house where nobody's home, an estimate that didn't say drywall patching was extra, a Friday timesheet that forgot an hour, an invoice nobody chased. Six of the site's US ideas for electricians each plug one of those leaks. The figures below come from their worked examples, which are illustrative shops built from stated assumptions, not real results.
Before the job: fewer wasted trips and clearer estimates
EV charger inquiries for electricians: photos before visits puts a Jotform intake on the website. It asks for photos of the open panel, the panel label, the main breaker, the meter and the parking spot. In the San Diego example, a two-electrician company with 20 charger inquiries a month estimates 8 of them from photos and skips 8 site visits of 1.25 hours each. That's 10 hours, about $600£451€537A$866C$848 a month at an assumed $60£45€54A$87C$85 an hour, against $34£26€30A$49C$48 a month for Jotform Bronze billed yearly ($39£29€35A$56C$55 monthly). Bronze matters because the free plan's 100 MB of upload space fills quickly with phone photos. The electrician still reviews every submission, and the estimate is subject to a check on arrival.
Estimate scopes for electricians: what's in and what's out uses an assistant you may already have. Paste site notes, without the customer's name or address, into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini with a standing template, and it drafts what's included, what's excluded and who pulls the permit. In the Austin example, 15 minutes saved on each of about 34 estimates a month is about 8.6 hours, or $385£289€344A$556C$544 at an assumed $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour, on a free plan or about $20£15€18A$29C$28 a month for one person. The assistant never prices the job or decides what code requires.
Visit reminders for electricians: fewer wasted trips uses Kickserv's automated email and text reminders, included on the $60£45€54A$87C$85-a-month Start plan for up to 5 users. In the Tampa example, going from 4 no-access trips a month to 1 saves 3 trips at 1.5 hours each, about $270£203€242A$390C$382 a month at an assumed $60£45€54A$87C$85 an hour.

After the job: billed hours, paid invoices, fresh reviews
Time tracking for electricians: T&M hours billed in full is the biggest figure of the six. In the Kansas City example, a six-person contractor loses about 1 billable hour a week at $95£71€85A$137C$134 and spends 2 hours a week checking timesheets. Logging time on the phone against each job recovers about $409£308€366A$590C$578 of work a month, plus about $290£218€259A$419C$410 of the owner's time at an assumed $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour: about $700£526€626A$1,011C$989 a month against $119£89€106A$172C$168 for Kickserv Run, which covers up to 10 users and adds GPS check-ins. Check what your state requires before tracking employees' location, and never edit logged hours down without talking to the electrician.
Invoice follow-ups for electricians: paid without the calls uses Jobber's automated follow-ups. In the Columbus, Georgia example, a shop sending 40 invoices a month with 12 running late spends about 3 hours chasing ($135£102€121A$195C$191 at an assumed $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour) and writes off one $350£263€313A$505C$495 invoice every two months. That's about $310£233€277A$448C$438 a month against $99£74€89A$143C$140 to $139£105€124A$201C$196 for Jobber Connect for 1 user. Jobber's Core plan doesn't include follow-ups, and each extra user is $29£22€26A$42C$41 a month.
Google reviews for electricians: a request after every call uses NiceJob Starter at $75£56€67A$108C$106 a month, with a 14-day free trial. In the Nashville example, 3 extra service calls a month at a $420£316€376A$606C$594 average ticket is $1,260£947€1,127A$1,819C$1,781 of work, or about $500£376€447A$722C$707 in profit at an assumed 40% margin. The extra calls are an assumption; ask new customers how they found you to test it. AI-written review replies need the $125£94€112A$180C$177 Pro plan.

How the six fit together
Two of the ideas share one product. Kickserv Run at $119£89€106A$172C$168 a month includes the reminders from the Start plan as well as GPS check-ins, so a shop wanting both visit reminders and time tracking pays for Run once, not both prices. Jobber Connect and Kickserv are rival job management systems; run one of them, not both, and check whether the software you already use has the feature before switching. The Jotform form, the assistant template and NiceJob sit beside any of them.
Rough monthly costs if you took every one on a single shop: Jotform $34£26€30A$49C$48 to $39£29€35A$56C$55 an assistant free to about $20£15€18A$29C$28 Kickserv $119£89€106A$172C$168 NiceJob $75£56€67A$108C$106 or Jobber instead of Kickserv at $99£74€89A$143C$140 to $139£105€124A$201C$196. Each saving figure rests on its own stated assumptions, so don't add them up as a forecast.
What to watch across all six
- A person reviews every estimate and scope. Photos, templates and AI drafts never decide what code requires or what a job costs.
- State contractor licensing: some states require your license number on ads, estimates, contracts and invoices. Put it into each template where your state asks for it.
- TCPA: reminder and review texts go only to customers who agreed to texts, with STOP working. Ask each vendor how its texting number is registered for A2P 10DLC.
- Employee tracking: some states require written notice before an employer monitors employees electronically, and hourly electricians are owed every hour worked.
- Plan limits: Jobber follow-ups start at Connect, Kickserv Start stops at 5 users, and Jotform's free upload space is only 100 MB.
Where to start
Start with the leak that costs you most. If you send invoices late, turn on follow-ups. If you drive to estimates, add the photo form. If you bill by the hour, put time logging into the end of every job. And if none of those are yours, a standing scope template costs nothing: write it once and use it on tomorrow's estimate. Each idea page has the full arithmetic, steps and pitfalls.
