The problem
Corporate clients want evidence an event worked before they rebook next year, and paper feedback cards have to be typed up. A planner who types up about 60 cards after each of 2 events a month, at 2 minutes a card, spends 240 minutes, 4 hours a month, and still has too few responses to show the client.
What the AI does
Tally is a form builder. Its free plan includes unlimited forms and submissions, conditional logic and the Google Sheets, Notion and Zapier integrations, and it stores form data in Europe. Build a short survey (overall rating, sessions, venue, food, would you come again, comments), turn its link into a QR code with any QR generator for screens and table cards, and ask the client to put the link in their thank-you email to attendees. Responses land in a Google Sheet you can chart for the client's debrief.
A worked example
A corporate event planner in Bristol runs 2 conferences a month for about 150 delegates. They swap paper cards for a 6-question Tally survey on a QR code and in the client's follow-up email, with answers going to a Google Sheet.
Before
About 60 paper cards an event typed up at 2 minutes each: 2 × 60 × 2 = 240 minutes, 4 hours a month
After
Answers arrive typed in a sheet; about 30 minutes an event to copy the survey and chart results: 1 hour a month
What it's worth
About $100£75€89A$144C$141 a month saved, at no cost on Tally's free plan. That's 3 hours (4 minus 1) at an assumed $33£25€30A$48C$47 an hour. Better evidence for rebooking conversations isn't counted.
How to set it up
- Build one survey template in Tally with 5 or 6 questions and a comments box, and duplicate it for each event.
- Connect it to Google Sheets so each response becomes a row.
- Make a QR code from the form link and show it on screens and table cards before the last session and at the close.
- Ask the client to include the link in their thank-you email to attendees, since it's their guest list.
- Within a week, chart the scores and pick out themes for the client's debrief.
What goes wrong
- Don't collect names or emails unless the client needs them; anonymous feedback is more honest and keeps personal data out of it.
- If you do collect contact details, the client's privacy notice must cover it, and the data belongs to their event, not your mailing list.
- Tally's free plan only emails you, not respondents. Tailored emails to respondents need Pro at €20 (about $23£17€20A$33C$32) a month.
- A QR code shown once at the very end gets few scans. Show it earlier and leave it on screen.
