The problem
Members order everything to the office. Each parcel means signing for it, working out who it's for, messaging them and finding it again when they come down. At 20 parcels a weekday and 2 minutes each, that's over 14 hours a month, and lost parcels cause the worst complaints.
What the AI does
Sign In App's Core plan includes delivery sign-in and notifications, as well as email and mobile push notifications. Whoever is at reception logs each parcel at the iPad as it arrives and picks the member it's addressed to, who is notified straight away. The record shows when it arrived and who it was for, which settles most 'where's my parcel' questions.
A worked example
A coworking space in Edinburgh with 80 members takes in about 20 parcels a weekday. It already uses Sign In App for visitors and switches on delivery sign-in at the same iPad.
Before
20 parcels a day at 2 minutes each: about 14.3 hours a month
After
20 parcels at about 30 seconds each to log: about 3.6 hours a month
What it's worth
About $358£269€320A$516C$506 a month in time saved: about 10.75 hours (20 parcels a day over about 21.5 weekdays, 1.5 minutes saved each) at an assumed $33£25€30A$48C$47 an hour. Sign In App Core is $552£415€494A$797C$780 a year per site, about $47£35€42A$67C$66 a month, and covers visitors too; if you already have it for visitors, parcels cost nothing extra.
How to set it up
- Switch on delivery sign-in in Sign In App and make sure every member is listed with the right email or app notifications.
- Show reception staff how to log a parcel in a few taps as the courier leaves.
- Give parcels a numbered shelf so the record says where each one is.
- Tell members how they'll be notified and how long you'll hold parcels.
- Check the uncollected list weekly and nudge anyone with a parcel over a few days old.
What goes wrong
- A notification only helps if it reaches the member. Check new members' details when they join.
- Large or valuable deliveries need a rule: who can sign, where they're stored, how long you keep them.
- Logging only works if everyone on the desk does it every time. One missed parcel undoes the trust.
- If you run Nexudus, its plans list delivery management (NexDelivery); check whether you need both.
