Colour regrowth rebooking emails for hair salons: Brevo

Email clients who have opted in a rebooking reminder as their colour grows out. Brevo, free for up to 300 emails a day.

The problem

Colour clients drift away between visits and rebook only when the regrowth bothers them, or go somewhere else. If a salon emails 300 colour clients and it brings back 6 extra bookings a month at £75 each, that's £450 a month it isn't getting.

What the AI does

Brevo is an email marketing platform. Its site lists a drag-and-drop email editor, sign-up forms, segments and an AI tool that drafts email copy. Ask clients to opt in at the till or when booking, with an unticked box and a clear note that you'll email about appointments and offers. Once a month, send those clients one short email saying the diary is open and linking to your booking page; ask the AI tool for the wording, then check it. PECR and UK GDPR require consent, a clear sender and a working unsubscribe in every email. Leave patch test results and any skin or allergy details out of the emails and out of Brevo: that is health information and stays in your client record.

A worked example

A hair salon in Wilmslow with 300 colour clients who ticked a box to hear from the salon sends one email a month on the first Monday.

Before

No contact between visits: 300 colour clients rebook when they remember, or not at all

After

One email a month to 300 opted-in clients: 300 emails, with 6 extra bookings at £75 = £450 in takings

What it's worth

About £338 a month, if 6 extra bookings at £75 bring £450 in takings and about a quarter goes on colour and materials (an assumed 25%): £450 x 0.75 = £338. The 6 extra bookings is an assumption, not a promise. Brevo's free plan sends up to 300 emails a day, which covers 300 clients emailed once a month, so the cost is £0. If the list grows past 300, Starter is £6 a month.

How to set it up

  1. Add an opt-in to your booking process and till routine: an unticked box, plain wording, and a record of who ticked it.
  2. Create a Brevo account and import only the clients who opted in, noting where and when each opted in.
  3. Build one email template with your logo, your booking link and a short line on opening times.
  4. Each month, ask the AI tool for a subject line and short copy, check dates and prices, and send.
  5. Remove anyone who unsubscribes straight away, and keep your sign-up records.

What goes wrong

  • Clients who booked with you haven't automatically agreed to marketing emails. Only email those who opted in.
  • The free plan sends up to 300 emails a day, so a list bigger than 300 needs Starter at £6 a month.
  • Never put patch test results or any skin or allergy details in an email or a Brevo field; that's health data.
  • If you want the Brevo logo removed, that needs the £8 a month add-on on Starter or Standard at £13.
