The problem
Contact forms bring in everything from a $532£400€476A$768C$752 one-page site to a $7,980£6,000€7,140A$11,520C$11,280 e-commerce build, and they all land in the same inbox. When replies go out in the order inquiries arrived, the best leads can wait a day while time goes on the weakest. If a slow reply loses one $3,990£3,000€3,570A$5,760C$5,640 project every two months, that is about $1,995£1,500€1,785A$2,880C$2,820 a month of work going to a faster agency.
What the AI does
Jev is a decision model that software calls through an API. When the contact form is submitted, a Zapier automation sends the answers to Jev with scoring questions set in advance: how well the budget fits your minimum, how soon they want to start, and how close the project is to the work you do best. Jev returns a score for each, with a probability. Zapier adds the scores to the inquiry and sends a phone alert for any lead above the level you choose, so it gets a call first. Every inquiry still gets a reply; the scores only set the order.
A worked example
A three-person web design agency in Brighton gets about 60 inquiries a month through its website form, roughly 10 of them good fits. A Zapier automation sends each inquiry to Jev, writes the scores into the agency's lead sheet and texts the director when a lead scores highly.
Before
Replies in date order, often 1 day later for the best leads
After
High-scoring leads called within the hour; an extra $3,990£3,000€3,570A$5,760C$5,640 project won about every two months
What it's worth
About $798£600€714A$1,152C$1,128 a month in profit, at an assumed 40% margin on $1,995£1,500€1,785A$2,880C$2,820 a month of extra work (one more $3,990£3,000€3,570A$5,760C$5,640 project every two months), against about $20£15€18A$29C$28 to $29£22€26A$42C$41 for Zapier and a few pence for Jev. If faster calls win nothing extra, the cost is small enough to stop after a quarter.
How to set it up
- Check that TypeSafe will give you an API key from its console: Jev is in early access.
- Write down what a good lead looks like for you: minimum budget, timescale and the kinds of site you do best.
- In Zapier (Pro plan or above, which includes webhooks), trigger on new form entries and send each one to Jev's API with your scoring questions.
- Add steps that write the scores into your lead sheet or CRM and send an alert for any lead above your threshold.
- After a month, compare the scores with the leads you actually won and adjust your questions and threshold.
What goes wrong
- This is technical setup that needs someone comfortable with API calls in Zapier, and upkeep when the form changes.
- A low score isn't a reason to ignore anyone: reply to every inquiry, and check now and then that good leads aren't scoring low.
- Jev scores what's written in the form. Vague answers produce uncertain scores, so add form fields for budget and start date.
- The Zapier free plan doesn't include webhooks, so this needs Pro at about $20£15€18A$29C$28 a month billed annually or $29£22€26A$42C$41 monthly.
