ChatGPT Go is OpenAI's cheaper paid plan, and for most of the ChatGPT ideas on this site it's all you need. OpenAI's help article says Go is now available in every country ChatGPT supports. As of October 2026, OpenAI's pricing page shows Go at €8 (about $9£7€8A$13C$13) a month and Plus at €23 (about $27£20€24A$38C$38), shown in local currency, so the UK price may differ slightly. Go covers file and data analysis, voice with video, image creation and scheduled tasks. Plus adds OpenAI's advanced reasoning models, full deep research and room for more tasks.
What Go includes
OpenAI's help article on Go says it includes everything in Free, with higher limits for image generation, file uploads and advanced data analysis, a larger context window for memory, and access to projects, tasks and custom GPTs, subject to availability. It's billed monthly and can be canceled at any time; OpenAI doesn't offer annual billing for Go, Plus or Pro. The pricing page says Go, Free and Plus are designed for one person each.
The pricing page's comparison table lists data analysis, file uploads, vision, image generation, scheduled tasks and voice with video on Go. Free gets limited versions of the first four, and the table doesn't list scheduled tasks or voice with video on Free at all. For long documents, Go and Plus show the same limits: about 40 pages of text for a quick answer and about 320 pages for a reasoning answer.
For voice, OpenAI's Voice help article lists 3 hours of Live voice in a rolling 24 hours on both Go and Plus, with Go on a lighter model, and limited access on Free. Live voice doesn't support video or screen sharing; for that you switch to the Advanced voice option in the mobile app. The Go help article says voice has the same limits as Free, which doesn't match the Voice article, so check what your app shows before relying on it for a long walk-round.
Two other details. The pricing page notes that Go may include ads, and the help article says OpenAI may start testing them. API use isn't included in any ChatGPT plan; it's billed separately.
What Plus adds
- Advanced reasoning models, which the pricing page lists on Plus and above, and faster replies. The table shows Go's response times as limited by bandwidth and availability.
- Full deep research. Go has a limited allowance.
- Full use of the Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets extensions, which are limited on Go.
- More tasks. The scheduled tasks help article allows 3 active tasks on Go and 5 on Plus, and tasks triggered by Gmail, Slack or GitHub activity need Plus or above.
- Interactive tables and charts, and image creation with reasoning.
The gap is €15 (about $17£13€15A$25C$24) a month. If none of those features is part of the job, Go does it.
How this affects the site's ideas
The site's ChatGPT ideas that depend on one feature are priced on Go at about $9£7€8A$13C$13 a month. Grouped by the feature they need, with figures from their worked examples, which are illustrative:

- Video: Quote visit item lists with ChatGPT video for man and van saves about $176£132€157A$253C$248 a month, and Condition notes with ChatGPT video for eBay sellers about $80£60€71A$115C$113. Both use Advanced voice, since Live doesn't take video.
- Data analysis: Bake waste check from till data with ChatGPT for cafés cuts waste by about $113£85€101A$163C$160 a month, and Earnings per chair-hour with ChatGPT for barbers finds about $160£120€143A$230C$226 a month in extra profit.
- Tasks: Hot weather walk alerts with ChatGPT tasks for dog walkers and Competitor price watch with ChatGPT tasks for gyms save about $72£54€64A$104C$102 a month each. Each uses one task, well inside Go's limit of 3.

If you run several of the task ideas at once, a weather check, a price watch and a weekly reminder, you'll reach Go's limit of 3 active tasks quickly, and that's the point to move to Plus. Ideas that only draft text, such as review replies or newsletters, list ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini together and often work on a free plan.
Data and privacy
Go is a personal plan. OpenAI's Go article says it may use conversations to improve its models, with an opt-out in the data controls; turn that off before you upload business exports. Keep customers' names, health details and anything about children out of a personal account, which keeps you on the right side of UK GDPR. A team that handles client data needs a business plan; the pricing page says ChatGPT Business starts at 2 users.
Where to start
If you're on Free and an idea needs video, tasks or regular file uploads, take Go for a month: it's billed monthly and you can cancel at any time. Run the idea for that month and note whether you hit a limit. Move to Plus only if you need more than 3 tasks, tasks triggered by email, regular deep research, or faster replies at your busy times.
