The problem
A wet week means 6 booked jobs have to move and every customer wants to know the new day. By phone, at 10 minutes each, that's an hour of calls, plus rewriting the diary by hand.
What the AI does
Job management software with a drag-and-drop diary lets you move a job to another day in a few clicks and keeps appointments in one place. Powered Now's top plan also lists appointment reminders to customers, so they hear about the visit without you ringing around.
A worked example
A one-person roofing business in Inverness has 6 jobs booked in a week of forecast rain. They use Powered Now Premium, drag each job to its new day, and reminders go out for the appointments in the diary.
Before
About an hour on the phone and in the diary to rearrange 6 jobs
After
About 15 minutes to drag 6 jobs, with reminders going out for appointments in the diary
What it's worth
About £53 a month: 45 minutes saved per wet week, so 1.5 hours if 2 weeks a month are wet, valued at £35 an hour. That covers the £40 plan.
How to set it up
- Pick Powered Now Premium, the plan that lists drag-and-drop scheduling and appointment reminders.
- Enter your booked jobs with the customer's mobile number or email.
- Turn on appointment reminders and check the wording.
- When the forecast turns, drag the affected jobs to their new days.
- Phone only the customers with the biggest jobs, or anyone who doesn't reply.
What goes wrong
- Premium is £40 per user a month excluding VAT. A second seat at £80 in total would cost more than the time saved in this example.
- Reminders are about appointments, not an explanation. For a big job, ring the customer too.
- The diary is only as good as what you put in. Jobs agreed by text and not entered will clash.
