The problem
A glamping site selling through its own website, Airbnb and Booking.com has to block every booking on the other calendars and send directions, arrival times and what to bring, often to a field with no exact post code. If a 5-unit site takes 45 bookings a month in season and each needs 5 minutes on calendars and 10 on messages, that's 675 minutes, about 11.3 hours a month.
What the AI does
Beds24 is a channel manager and booking system. Its site lists two-way connections with leading booking sites, a central inbox for Airbnb and Booking.com, automated personalized emails to guests with email triggers you set, and a commission-free booking engine for your own website. You enter each pod or tent, connect your channels, and write your confirmation and pre-arrival emails once, including your own directions, access and parking details. The site doesn't say how often calendars sync, so test it in the free trial.
A worked example
A glamping site in Pembrokeshire has 3 pods and 2 bell tents (5 units, 2 unit types), sells on its own website, Airbnb and Booking.com, and takes about 45 bookings a month in season.
Before
15 minutes per booking (5 on calendars, 10 on messages): 45 x 15 = 675 minutes, about 11.3 hours a month
After
About 3 minutes per booking checking calendars and messages: 135 minutes, 2.25 hours a month
What it's worth
About $192£144€171A$276C$271 a month saved in season, against about $32£24€29A$46C$45 for Beds24. That's 9 hours (675 minus 135 = 540 minutes) at an assumed $21£16€19A$31C$30 an hour. From Beds24's calculator figures: €12.90 base + 5 units x €2.60 + 2 unit types x 2 channels x €0.55 = €28.10 (about $32£24€29A$46C$45) a month; confirm for your set-up. Optional text alerts are €0.10 each. Beds24 charges no commission; Airbnb and Booking.com charge their own.
How to set it up
- Start the free trial and add each pod and tent, grouped by unit type.
- Connect each booking channel as Beds24 instructs, and make a test booking to check it blocks the other calendars.
- Write your confirmation and pre-arrival emails once, with directions, a what3words or map pin you've checked, arrival times and parking.
- Ask guests in the confirmation to tell you about allergies or access needs before arrival, and plan to speak to them.
- Check the calendars against each booking site every morning for the first month.
What goes wrong
- The page doesn't give a sync frequency. A double-booked pod on a bank holiday is costly, so test sync before you rely on it.
- Glamping-only sites may not connect. Check which of your listing sites Beds24 supports before switching; the features page doesn't name them.
- Guest names, phone numbers and car registrations are personal data under UK GDPR. Limit who can see them.
- Pricing grows with units, unit types and channel links. Use Beds24's calculator for your set-up.
