The problem
Every new party theme and every season needs a picture for the Facebook page, Instagram and booking listings: the entertainer as a dinosaur explorer, a space captain or one of Santa's elves. Making each one in a design app from stock images takes about 45 minutes, and an entertainer posting 4 new pictures a month spends 3 hours on it, usually late at night after a weekend of parties.
What the AI does
Meta AI is built into WhatsApp and free for everyday use. WhatsApp's own page says it can add a new background to a photo, remove an object or turn a photo into an illustration, and it can create images in a chat. The entertainer takes a photo of themselves in costume, sends it to the Meta AI chat in WhatsApp and asks for the change, such as a jungle background or a bright cartoon version, then saves the best result and posts it. Only the entertainer's own photos go in, never pictures from parties, and the picture shows nothing the party doesn't include.
A worked example
A children's entertainer in Kent adds 2 new party themes a month and posts 2 seasonal pictures, such as Halloween and Christmas party offers. They take a costume photo at home and edit it with Meta AI in WhatsApp.
Before
About 45 minutes per picture in a design app: 4 × 45 = 180 minutes, 3 hours a month
After
About 15 minutes per picture, including a few retries: 4 × 15 = 60 minutes, 1 hour a month
What it's worth
About $67£50€60A$96C$94 a month in time saved, at no cost. Pictures take 1 hour a month instead of 3, and 2 hours at an assumed $33£25€30A$48C$47 an hour is $67£50€60A$96C$94.
How to set it up
- Update WhatsApp and open the chat with Meta AI from your chats list.
- Take a well-lit photo of yourself in costume against a plain wall, with no children or other people in it.
- Send it to Meta AI and describe the change: "Put me in front of a jungle with friendly cartoon dinosaurs, bright colors, with space at the top for text."
- Try two or three versions, save the best and check faces, hands, props and any lettering before using it.
- Put your dates, price and booking link in the post text, then share it on Facebook, Instagram and your listings.
What goes wrong
- Show only what parents will get. A picture with a live animal, a bubble machine or a bouncy castle you don't bring could mislead them, so keep the AI changes to backgrounds and illustration.
- Meta AI is a free consumer service with no business data terms. Never send it photos from parties, pictures of children or parents' details.
- WhatsApp says Meta AI and some features are only in limited countries and might not be available to you yet, even if others have them. If it doesn't appear, other AI assistants also edit photos; check their plan limits.
- Meta says some AI images might not be accurate or appropriate, and lettering often comes out garbled. Add text in the post rather than in the picture.
