The problem
In many independent funeral homes, the arrangement is written on paper, the estimate typed into a template, the disbursements added by hand and the invoice typed again weeks later. Each copy is a chance to get a name, a date or a fee wrong at the worst possible time for the family. At 8 funerals a month and about 2 hours of this typing each, that's 16 hours a month.
What the AI does
Funeral iQ+ is UK funeral management software. Its site lists case management and an arrangement workflow, CMA-ready price lists, estimates with eSignature and version history, invoices and credit notes, a sales ledger and online card payments, with automated CMA reporting. The first call, the arrangement meeting, the estimate and the final invoice all build on the same record, so details are entered once and prices come from your current price list.
A worked example
An independent family funeral director in Shropshire with one branch and 6 staff arranges about 8 funerals a month. It moves its arrangement forms, price list and estimate template into Funeral iQ+.
Before
8 funerals a month at about 2 hours each of typing, retyping and checking paperwork: 16 hours
After
8 funerals at about 45 minutes each, with details entered once: 6 hours
What it's worth
About $333£250€298A$480C$470 a month in time saved: 10 hours (16 down to 6) at an assumed $33£25€30A$48C$47 an hour. Funeral iQ+ is $9£7€8A$13C$13 per funeral with unlimited users and no setup fee, so 8 funerals a month is about $74£56€67A$108C$105; billing is monthly and rolling. Card processing fees for online payments are passed through at cost.
How to set it up
- Ask Funeral iQ+ for its no-obligation conversation and its Security & Compliance Pack, and check how your existing records would be moved across.
- Load your current Standardised Price List and Additional Options Price List, and check them against the CMA template before using them for estimates.
- Run your next few funerals in it alongside your current paperwork, and compare every estimate and invoice.
- Agree who updates prices when crematorium or supplier fees change, so estimates are never built from an old list.
- Check the system's CMA reporting against your own understanding of what the Order requires of you.
What goes wrong
- Funeral iQ+ launched in 2026. Ask for references from other funeral homes and check you can export all your records if you leave.
- Software doesn't make you compliant. The CMA Order's rules on displaying your price lists in branch and online, and on prohibited practices, still apply to you.
- Estimates are only right if the price list is current. Out-of-date crematorium fees mean a family is quoted the wrong amount.
- Records include sensitive information about the deceased and their family. Limit who can see them and remove leavers' logins promptly.
