The problem
Nail clients on a 3-weekly infill can drift to a cheaper salon down the road after a few missed appointments. If 10 visits a month are lost that way at $40£30€36A$58C$56 that's $399£300€357A$576C$564 a month in takings.
What the AI does
Fresha's Client Loyalty add-on rewards clients for booking and spending: they earn points automatically on each visit or purchase, redeem them for discounts or perks, and see balances and tiers in the Fresha app, with automated messages about points and rewards. Set a simple scheme, such as points per pound spent and $7£5€6A$10C$9 off once enough points are earned, and tell clients at checkout. It costs €59.95 (about $69£52€62A$100C$98) a location a month on Fresha's pricing page, on top of a Fresha plan.
A worked example
A four-tech nail salon in Bolton already uses Fresha Team and sees about 120 visits a month from regulars. The owner adds Client Loyalty with $7£5€6A$10C$9 off after about every 10 visits' worth of points, and mentions it at every checkout.
Before
About 10 regular visits a month lost to clients drifting elsewhere
After
Those 10 visits kept, worth $399£300€357A$576C$564 a month, at a cost of about 12 $7£5€6A$10C$9 rewards a month
What it's worth
About $200£150€179A$288C$282 a month in profit: $279£210€250A$403C$395 at an assumed 70% margin on $399£300€357A$576C$564 of kept visits (10 a month at $40£30€36A$58C$56 an assumption), less about $80£60€71A$115C$113 of rewards (12 rewards of $7£5€6A$10C$9 on 120 member visits). That is against Client Loyalty at €59.95 (about $69£52€62A$100C$98) a month, shown in local currency, on top of the Fresha plan you already pay.
How to set it up
- Decide a simple scheme you can afford: how points are earned and what a reward is worth.
- Add Client Loyalty in Fresha and set the points and rewards.
- Tell every client about it at checkout and put it on the booking page.
- Check after 2 months whether repeat visits rose enough to cover the add-on and the rewards.
- Keep loyalty messages to clients who agreed to marketing, with an easy opt-out.
What goes wrong
- Fresha's reputation page mentions rewarding reviews with loyalty points. Don't: rewarding reviews is banned under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
- Rewards are a real cost. Work out the discount you're giving away each month, not just the add-on price.
- Points and offer messages are marketing under PECR; send them only to clients who agreed.
