The problem
Infills work every 2 to 3 weeks. Clients who forget and leave it 5 or 6 weeks need a full set, feel awkward and often go elsewhere. If 4 clients a month drift away for a gap you could have closed, at $47£35€42A$67C$66 an infill, that's $186£140€167A$269C$263 a month in takings, and more each month they stay away.
What the AI does
Fresha's help center lists a Reminder to rebook message that encourages clients to book their next appointment if they haven't rebooked within a set timeframe. It isn't sent if the client already has an upcoming appointment, or after a cancellation or no-show, and only one goes out when reminders would overlap. Set the timeframe for your lash services, write a short, friendly message with your booking link and choose email, text or both. Fresha groups it with its marketing messages, so send it only to clients who agreed to hear from you.
A worked example
A lash technician in Cardiff has about 80 regular infill clients and loses a few each month to long gaps. They turn on Fresha's Reminder to rebook for classic and volume infills, set to 3 weeks after the last visit, sent by email and text.
Before
About 4 infill clients a month lapsing into a full set elsewhere
After
About 40 rebooking reminders a month, bringing back about 4 infills a month at $47£35€42A$67C$66
What it's worth
About $140£105€125A$202C$197 a month in profit, at an assumed 75% margin on $186£140€167A$269C$263 of infills (4 a month at $47£35€42A$67C$66) that would otherwise be lost; the 4 is an assumption. That is against Fresha Independent at €14.95 (about $17£13€15A$25C$24) a month plus about 40 marketing texts at €0.14 (about 12p) each, about $7£5€6A$10C$9 shown in local currency on Fresha's page; marketing emails are free up to 50 a month.
How to set it up
- Set up Fresha with your lash services and import your regular clients.
- Turn on the Reminder to rebook automation and set the timeframe for infills, such as 3 weeks.
- Write a short message in your own words with your booking link.
- Send it only to clients who opted in to messages, and make sure every message lets them opt out.
- After a month, check how many reminded clients rebooked, and adjust the timing.
What goes wrong
- Rebooking reminders are marketing under PECR. Only send them to clients who agreed, or to existing clients under the soft opt-in with an easy opt-out every time.
- Texts cost money after the free allowance; emails are cheaper. Watch the bill in the first month.
- A reminder can't fix a retention problem. If clients are lapsing because lashes fall out early, look at your aftercare and technique first.
