A private Edinburgh mental health clinic drafts letters and reports with AI
A mental health practice with nearly 50 clinicians says an AI scribe cut clinician admin time by 25 to 30% and let one psychiatrist add two clinic hours a week.
The practice uses Heidi to transcribe consultations and draft GP letters and assessment reports, linked to its practice management system Semble. It is extending this to multi-step assessments and questionnaires.
How it went
The practice says admin time fell 25 to 30% for clinicians using it, weekly adoption is above 90%, and one psychiatrist added two client-facing hours a week.
Worth knowing
This is a vendor-published case study and the figures are the practice's own. Mental health records are special category data under UK GDPR, so every draft report needs clinician review before it goes anywhere.

I run a [type of] practice with [number] clinicians. Write a checklist for using AI to draft letters and reports from consultation notes: what is recorded, who reviews each draft, how it is stored, and what patients are told. Include a final step where a qualified clinician checks every output. Show me the checklist before we use any patient data.
