The problem

A round written in a book gets driven in the order customers signed up, not the order that makes sense. If a better order saved 15 minutes and 5 miles a day, over 5 days a week that's 322 minutes (15 × 5 × 4.3), about 5.4 hours, and about 108 miles a month (5 × 5 × 4.3).

What the AI does

Squeegee groups jobs into rounds and its Day Pilot calculates the most efficient route for all the jobs scheduled that day. Each worker can have their own start and end points, such as home and wherever the water tank gets filled, and the route opens in the mapping app on their phone.   2. Group them into rounds by area and frequency.

  4. Follow each day's suggested route for two weeks before judging it.
  5. Move customers with a fixed time, such as a shop before it opens, by hand.

What goes wrong
