The problem
Plenty of quotes don't get a no; they get silence. A busy plumber sending 15 quotes a month rarely has time to chase each one. If just 2 of those would have been accepted after a nudge, at a £900 average for boiler swaps and bathroom work, that's £1,800 a month left on the table.
What the AI does
Job management software can follow up every quote for you. A few days after a quote goes out, the customer gets a short, friendly reminder by email or text with a link to accept it online. If they still haven't answered, a second reminder goes out a few days later. You only hear about it when they accept, ask a question or decline.

How to set it up
- Pick a job management tool with automatic quote reminders, such as Tradify Pro or Jobber Connect.
- Move your quote template into it so quotes go out from the app, not from your own email.
- Turn on quote reminders and set the timing, for example 3 days and 7 days after sending.
- Rewrite the reminder message in your own words: short, friendly, with the accept link up front.
- After a month, compare your acceptance rate with the month before you switched it on.
What goes wrong
- Reminders only work for quotes sent from the app. Quotes sent as a PDF from your own email won't be chased.
- More than 2 or 3 reminders starts to feel like pestering. Stop after the second.
- Tradify charges per user, so the three-person firm in the example pays about £120 a month, not the £40 headline.
