The problem
Couples find planners on Instagram, but posting slips in peak season when weekends go on weddings. Posting from your phone 3 times a week at 20 minutes a go is an hour a week, about 4.3 hours a month, and in June and July it's often skipped altogether.
What the AI does
Buffer lets you queue and schedule posts to connected channels, and its AI Assistant, which the pricing page lists on every plan including Free, refines and repurposes your wording. Once a fortnight, choose 6 photos from recent weddings (with permission from the couple and the photographer), write the captions, use the assistant to adapt each for Instagram and Facebook, and queue them. The free plan allows up to 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel, enough for a fortnight at 3 posts a week.
A worked example
A wedding planner in Norfolk posts to Instagram and Facebook. Instead of posting from a phone between weddings, the planner batches a fortnight's posts on a Monday morning.
Before
3 posts a week at 20 minutes each, written on the go: about 4.3 hours a month, with gaps in peak season
After
One 1-hour session a fortnight for both channels: about 2.2 hours a month, with no gaps
What it's worth
About $100£75€89A$144C$141 a month saved, at no cost on Buffer's free plan. About 2 hours a month saved (4.3 hours down to about 2.2), worth about $100£75€89A$144C$141 at an assumed $47£35€42A$67C$66 an hour. Steadier posting in peak season is the bigger benefit and isn't counted here. If you need more than 10 queued posts per channel, Essentials is $5 (about $5£4€5A$8C$8) per channel a month on yearly billing.
How to set it up
- Connect your Instagram and Facebook accounts to Buffer's free plan.
- Get permission from each couple and the photographer before posting wedding photos, and credit the photographer.
- Every other Monday, pick 6 photos and write a caption for each about what you planned or solved.
- Use the AI Assistant to adapt each caption for each channel, then edit it so it sounds like you.
- Queue the posts and check the schedule on the Friday before each wedding weekend.
What goes wrong
- The free plan holds 10 scheduled posts per channel, so a month's batch won't fit. Batch fortnightly or move to Essentials.
- Wedding photos belong to the photographer, and some couples don't want their day online. Ask both, every time.
- AI-adapted captions can sound generic. Keep the specific detail: the venue, the problem you solved, the couple's theme.
