The problem
Owners away on holiday want proof every visit happened, and message at all hours. If a sitter makes 120 visits a month and spends 4 minutes per visit on WhatsApp photos and replies, that's 480 minutes, 8 hours a month, with nothing on record if a dispute comes up.
What the AI does
Time To Pet prompts the sitter to send a report after each visit, with notes, pictures and answers to your report card questions, delivered by email or push notification (text on Solo and above), and the owner replies in the same conversation feed. GPS can log check-in and check-out on every plan. Set report card questions for cat visits: food eaten, litter done, water fresh, medication given, and house checks such as post moved, lights and windows. Each report stays on the client's record.
A worked example
A pet sitter in Bath makes about 120 visits a month, mostly to cats while owners are away, and used to send WhatsApp photos after every visit.
Before
120 visits x 4 minutes on photos and replies: 480 minutes, 8 hours a month
After
A report card and photo from the app at about 1.5 minutes: 180 minutes, 3 hours a month
What it's worth
About $133£100€119A$192C$188 a month saved, at an assumed $27£20€24A$38C$38 an hour for 5 hours (480 minus 180 minutes). Lite is $25 (about $25£19€23A$36C$36) a month; Solo, at $50 (about $51£38€45A$73C$71), adds text messages and short videos. The reports also give you a dated record of each visit.
How to set it up
- Write report card questions for each service: for cats, food eaten, litter, water, medication and house checks.
- Turn on GPS check-in and check-out so each visit has a time record.
- Agree with each owner how they want updates: app, email, or text on Solo.
- Send the report before leaving the property, while the details are fresh.
- If a cat hasn't eaten or something's wrong in the house, phone the owner as well; don't leave it in a report.
What goes wrong
- A report is only as true as what's entered. Never tick 'medication given' in advance.
- Photos inside a home can show valuables or the alarm panel; frame them on the pet.
- Text messages need Solo; on Lite, owners use the app or email.
- Prices are in US dollars, so the cost in pounds moves with the exchange rate.
