The problem
Business clients reorder business cards and letterheads by email: a list of names, a new job title, a phone number in the wrong format. Each reorder means retyping, a proof, corrections and chasing approval. At 40 reorders a month and 25 minutes of admin each, that's over 16 hours a month on work that should be routine.
What the AI does
Printlogic's Web2Print module gives each business client a storefront with your approved templates. Its pricing page lists a customer-facing web portal, online job submission, real-time order tracking, customizable templates and an automated estimating handoff into Printlogic. Staff at the client fill in their own name and details on a locked template, see the result and order, and the job arrives in your system priced and ready.
A worked example
A print shop in Bolton with 5 staff prints business cards and stationery for 12 corporate accounts, including a law firm and a housing association that reorder most weeks. It sets up a storefront for each account with locked templates for cards, compliment slips and letterheads.
Before
40 reorders a month at 25 minutes of admin each: 1,000 minutes, about 16.7 hours
After
40 reorders at about 8 minutes each to check and release to production: 320 minutes, about 5.3 hours
What it's worth
About $452£340€405A$653C$639 a month in time saved: 680 minutes, about 11.3 hours a month, at an assumed $40£30€36A$58C$56 an hour. That is against $306£230€274A$442C$432 a month (Printlogic Starter at $153£115€137A$221C$216 plus the Web2Print module at $153£115€137A$221C$216); if you already run Printlogic, the module adds $153£115€137A$221C$216.
How to set it up
- Pick the 2 or 3 business accounts that reorder most often and agree with each which items and templates they need.
- Build locked templates with the client's approved fonts, colors and layout so staff can change only their own details.
- Set each account's prices and who at the client can order or approve.
- Run a pilot with one account for a month and check every order before production.
- Add the other accounts once the first one is running without corrections.
What goes wrong
- Web2Print needs Printlogic itself. It isn't a standalone shop, so the cost here includes the Starter plan.
- A locked template still lets people type a wrong phone number. Keep a quick check before each order goes to press.
- Agree who can order at each client. Without approval limits, anyone with the link can order 1,000 cards.
- Setting up templates takes time per account; it pays back only for clients who reorder regularly.
