The problem
Home buyers, real estate agents and homeowners want a sewer scope report they can read, not just a verbal 'there's a belly at 40 feet'. Writing it up at night takes time. If a plumber runs 25 camera inspections a month and each report takes 40 minutes, that's almost 17 hours a month; cutting it to 15 minutes saves about 10 hours, worth $450£338€403A$650C$636 if your time is worth $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour.
What the AI does
CompanyCam stamps photos with time and location, files them by job and shares them through a link with a live feed. It can turn project photos, notes and job details into reports with reusable templates. Its AI Summary takes up to fifty photos and drafts a description, and its AI features can draft reports and captions from what you say as you take photos. Crew adds automatic job reports and 100 AI credits.
A worked example
A three-person plumbing company in Sacramento runs about 25 sewer camera inspections a month, many for home purchases at $250£188€224A$361C$353 each. Everyone moves onto CompanyCam Crew (3 users), saves screenshots from the camera at each finding and talks through what they see as they take them.
Before
40 minutes a night per report, written from memory and screenshots
After
Report drafted from the photos and notes on site, checked and sent in about 15 minutes
What it's worth
About $450£338€403A$650C$636 a month in time saved, against $119£89€106A$172C$168 to $149£112€133A$215C$211 for CompanyCam Crew. That's 25 minutes saved on each of 25 reports, about 10.4 hours, at an assumed $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour, rounded down. Line repairs sold from clearer reports come on top.
How to set it up
- Choose CompanyCam Crew ($119£89€106A$172C$168 a month billed yearly, $149£112€133A$215C$211 monthly) for up to 3 users, with automatic job reports and 100 AI credits.
- Build a report template: address, access point, pipe material, distance markers, findings with photos, and what you recommend.
- At each finding, capture the image with the footage distance visible and say what it shows.
- Read every line of the AI draft before sending. A licensed plumber signs off the findings and any repair estimate.
- Share the report link with the client and the agent if the client asks you to.
What goes wrong
- AI summaries can describe more than the image shows. Only report what the camera saw; say plainly what couldn't be seen.
- Check how many AI credits each summary uses: 25 reports a month plus other jobs may need more than Crew's 100.
- Long video files may be better kept in your camera system's own storage, with key frames in the report.
- A repair estimate in the report is still an estimate; a person prices it, and for excavation, permits and right-of-way work you check local rules.
