The problem
Mosquito barrier treatments are recurring summer work, but many companies only sell them to people who call in July. If 12 of 600 past and current customers would sign up for a monthly $79£59€71A$114C$112 treatment when offered in April, that's $948£713€848A$1,369C$1,340 a month of work from April to October that never gets booked (12 × $79£59€71A$114C$112).
What the AI does
Brevo is an email marketing tool with contact lists, a drag-and-drop editor and an AI tool for drafting email copy. The owner imports customers who agreed to marketing emails, drafts a short spring email with the AI tool (what the treatment covers, $79£59€71A$114C$112 a visit, monthly from April to October, one booking link), edits it into their own words and schedules it for early April. Replies and bookings go into the job software as recurring visits.
A worked example
An illustrative example built from typical figures, not a named business.
A pest control company in Richmond, Virginia, with 3 licensed technicians has about 600 past and current residential customers who agreed to marketing emails. In early April it sends a Brevo email offering a monthly mosquito barrier treatment at $79£59€71A$114C$112 a visit from April to October, using the free plan's 300 emails a day over 2 days.
Before
Mosquito treatments sold only to the 2 or 3 customers a year who call in midsummer
After
12 monthly mosquito customers signed up from one April email, $948£713€848A$1,369C$1,340 a month in season
What it's worth
About $474£356€424A$684C$670 a month in profit during mosquito season, at an assumed 50% margin on $948£713€848A$1,369C$1,340 a month of treatments (12 customers × $79£59€71A$114C$112). The free plan costs nothing; Standard at $18£14€16A$26C$25 a month removes the Brevo logo and adds marketing automation.
How to set it up
- Export customers' names and emails from your job software, keeping only those who agreed to marketing emails or bought from you and can unsubscribe.
- Create a free Brevo account and import the list; the free plan sends up to 300 emails a day once Brevo approves the account.
- Draft the email with Brevo's AI tool or write it yourself: one service, one price, the months it runs, one way to book.
- Edit the draft so it doesn't promise a mosquito-free yard, and check the footer has your physical mailing address and a working unsubscribe link, as CAN-SPAM requires.
- Make sure every technician doing mosquito work holds the right category on your state pesticide applicator license before the season starts.
What goes wrong
- 600 contacts at 300 emails a day takes 2 days on the free plan. Starter at $9£7€8A$13C$13 a month sends 5,000 a month, with the Brevo logo unless you pay for logo removal.
- Mosquito treatment claims are tightly bound to the product label. Don't let an AI draft claim it prevents disease or protects children and pets beyond what the label says.
- Following up by text is a separate channel: it needs prior express written consent under the TCPA and a registered A2P 10DLC number. Brevo sells SMS credits separately.
- Recurring visits need consent to autopay or a clear way to cancel. Put both in the sign-up confirmation.
