The problem
Couples research venues in the evening and at weekends and ask the same things: capacity, ceremony options, exclusive use, accommodation, corkage and minimum numbers. If 60 website questions a month each take the events manager 6 minutes, that's 360 minutes, 6 hours a month, and a question sent at 10pm waits until morning.
What the AI does
Tidio is website live chat with an AI agent called Lyro. Its pricing page says Lyro answers from your support content, such as an uploaded FAQ or your website, hands the chat to a person when needed, and is sold on its own from 50 AI conversations a month. Write a one-page FAQ from your own records and give it to Lyro. Use its guidance settings so that dates, prices, availability, dietary and accessibility questions go to the team, with Lyro taking the couple's contact details. The team answers those personally the next morning.
A worked example
A country house wedding venue in Suffolk gets about 60 website questions a month, many in the evening. It adds Tidio chat with Lyro trained on a one-page FAQ.
Before
60 questions x 6 minutes = 360 minutes, 6 hours a month, with evening questions waiting until morning
After
Lyro answers about 35 routine questions; 25 go to the team at 6 minutes, plus 30 minutes reading chats: 180 minutes, 3 hours a month
What it's worth
About $80£60€71A$115C$113 a month saved, against about $37£28€33A$54C$53 to $45£34€40A$65C$64 for Lyro. That's 3 hours (360 minus 180 = 180 minutes) at an assumed $27£20€24A$38C$38 an hour; 35 questions answered by Lyro is an assumption. Lyro is €32.50 (about $37£28€33A$54C$53) a month billed annually or €39 (about $45£34€40A$65C$64) monthly for 50 AI conversations. Tidio showed euros on the day checked, so check the price in your currency. Faster answers may win show-rounds, which isn't counted.
How to set it up
- Write a one-page FAQ from your own records: capacity, ceremony options, exclusive use, accommodation, parking, supplier rules and what's included.
- Install Tidio's chat on your website and give Lyro the FAQ.
- Set dates, prices, availability, dietary and accessibility questions to go to a person, with Lyro taking contact details.
- Ask it 20 test questions, including awkward ones, and fix the FAQ where it gets an answer wrong.
- Read every Lyro conversation for the first month and add questions it couldn't answer to the FAQ.
What goes wrong
- Lyro answers from what you give it. An out-of-date FAQ means confident wrong answers about prices or capacity, so update it when anything changes.
- The free plan's 50 Lyro conversations are a one-off; after that you need the paid Lyro plan, and more than 50 AI conversations a month costs more.
- Don't let it confirm a date or quote a price. Availability lives in your diary and quotes come from you in writing.
- Chats hold couples' names and contact details, which are personal data under UK GDPR. Mention the chat in your privacy notice.
