The problem
Every CV a client sees has to go out in your agency's format, and reformatting by hand is slow. A two-consultant agency sending 25 CVs a week to clients at 15 minutes each spends over 6 hours a week, about 27 hours a month, retyping and tidying documents.
What the AI does
Recruitly parses a CV as it comes in, in any format, and turns it into a document in your agency's branded template. Its site says the AI can rewrite a CV to bring forward the skills most relevant to a role without inventing or changing facts, and that branded templates, AI rewriting and watermarking are on every plan, including Free, with no per-CV charge. A consultant reads every formatted CV against the original before it goes to a client, removes contact details the client shouldn't have yet, and checks the candidate has agreed to be put forward for that role.
A worked example
A two-consultant permanent recruitment agency in Nottingham places office and finance staff. Both consultants format CVs by hand in Word before sending them to clients, about 25 a week between them.
Before
25 CVs a week at 15 minutes each: about 27 hours a month
After
If formatting plus a check takes 5 minutes each: 125 minutes a week, about 9 hours a month
What it's worth
About $718£540€643A$1,037C$1,015 a month saved, against $160£120€143A$230C$226 for the software. About 18 hours a month saved (27 hours down to 9), worth about $718£540€643A$1,037C$1,015 if a consultant's time is worth $40£30€36A$58C$56 an hour, and if the 5-minute check holds (an assumption to test in the 14-day trial). Cost: Professional is $80 (about $80£60€71A$115C$113) per user a month, so about $160£120€143A$230C$226 for two consultants; Solo at $25 (about $25£19€23A$36C$36) covers one user only.
How to set it up
- Start the 14-day trial (no card needed) and set up your agency's CV template with your logo and the sections you always include.
- Import 10 recent CVs in different formats and compare Recruitly's formatted versions with the ones you actually sent.
- Set house rules for the AI rewrite, such as no changes to job titles, dates or qualifications, and test them on a few CVs.
- Have a consultant check every formatted CV against the original before it goes to a client, and remove the candidate's contact details if your terms say so.
- Note on the candidate's record that they agreed to be put forward for that role before you send anything.
What goes wrong
- An AI rewrite can shift emphasis in a way the candidate wouldn't recognize. Keep facts, dates and grades exactly as the candidate gave them, and if in doubt send the parsed version without the rewrite.
- Solo is for one user only. With two or more consultants you need Professional at $80 (about $80£60€71A$115C$113) per user, which is where the cost here comes from.
- AI agent actions are a separate pay-as-you-go add-on at $0.50 to $3.00 per action. The site says CV rewriting is included, but check which actions are charged before turning any agent on.
- Parsing can misread tables, columns and graphics-heavy CVs. Check names, dates and employers on every one.
