The problem
Every mowing inquiry in spring means a drive out to pace off the lawn before you can give a price, and the customer often books whoever answered first. If the owner quotes 40 lawns a month and each trip takes 40 minutes, that is about 27 hours a month (40 × 40 minutes), or about $1,200£902€1,074A$1,732C$1,696 at an assumed $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour.
What the AI does
Deep Lawn's AI measures a property's turf, lot and buildings from high-definition aerial imagery. You set a price by measured area for each service, and its storefront widget on your website shows the customer a price straight away and lets them pick a service and pay, without a call or a site visit. Lead and abandoned-cart automations follow up with people who start a quote and stop, and the internal quoting tool prices a lawn while you're on the phone. A person still looks at odd or very large properties before the crew is scheduled.
A worked example
An illustrative example built from typical figures, not a named business.
A two-crew lawn care company in Charlotte, North Carolina, quotes about 40 new residential lawns a month in spring, mostly weekly mowing at about $55£41€49A$79C$78 a visit for an average lot. The owner puts Deep Lawn's widget on the website on the Launch HD plan ($120£90€107A$173C$170 a month, 40 property searches), with a price for each lawn size band, and checks each new sale before adding it to a route.
Before
About 40 drive-outs a month to measure lawns, about 27 hours of the owner's time
After
About 30 lawns a month quoted and sold online; 10 odd or large lots still visited, about 7 hours
What it's worth
About $900£677€805A$1,299C$1,272 a month of the owner's time saved, against $120£90€107A$173C$170 for Deep Lawn Launch HD. That is 30 fewer drive-outs a month at 40 minutes each (20 hours) at an assumed $45£34€40A$65C$64 an hour. Faster quotes may also win more lawns, which isn't counted here.
How to set it up
- Measure 10 lawns you already mow with Deep Lawn's internal quoting tool and compare the turf area with what you know before you trust it with new customers.
- Set price bands by turf area for each service (for example, weekly mowing from $55£41€49A$79C$78 for an average lot) and add the zip codes you serve as service areas.
- Embed the storefront widget on your website's quote page and link to it from your Google Business Profile.
- Check each online sale the same day for gated yards, steep slopes or new construction the imagery may miss, and call the customer if the price needs to change.
- Before any follow-up goes out by text, make sure the form collects consent to texts and each message says how to opt out (STOP); the TCPA requires prior express written consent for marketing texts.
What goes wrong
- Launch HD includes 40 searches a month, and every property you price uses one, including ones that never buy. Each extra search is $2.50£1.88€2.24A$3.61C$3.53, so past about 72 searches a month Professional HD ($200£150€179A$289C$283 with 100 searches) is cheaper.
- Aerial imagery can be out of date or hidden by tree canopy, and a new fence, pool or patio changes the real mowing area. Say in your terms that the price is confirmed on the first visit.
- Some states charge sales tax on lawn care. Set it up with your accountant and in your billing system, not as a guess in the widget price.
- The pricing page sells team members at $22£17€20A$32C$31 a month each and doesn't say how many logins a plan includes. Ask before adding office staff.
