A six-person marketing agency builds its own AI training in-house
Vertis Media, a small UK marketing agency, trained its team on AI itself and says it cut reporting time and added new services worth roughly a fifth more turnover.

What they did
From 2023 the founders taught themselves the tools, then wrote short internal videos and guides and set up one shared dashboard for AI tools, updates and experiments. AI came up in the weekly team meeting, and an automation filtered and summarized outside news. After a pause to drop what wasn't working, AI went into project management and reporting, and creative staff took deeper training in image, video and content tools.
How it went
The agency says it spends far less time on campaign reporting, analysis and research, kept all its staff, and moved towards business development and client work. It estimates the new AI-enabled services contributed to about a 20% rise in turnover.
Worth knowing
The outcomes are the agency's own, reported in interviews and not audited, and it ran no formal cost-benefit analysis. The write-up names no tools. Staff were trained to review and challenge AI output, and client data needs the usual UK GDPR care.
